Serranito - Pork Loin, Green Pepper & Serrano Ham
A serranito is a warm sandwich prepared in Andalusia. The main ingredients are pork loin, serrano ham, green pepper and tomato. It is served with French fries.
Ingredients & Quantities:
- Start by making fries, which act as an accompaniment to our serranito, according to tradition.
- Fry the whole peppers for about 3 or 4 minutes. Keep frying until the skin is golden brown. Once the peppers are fried, take away the head, open it, removed the seeds and put to the side.
- Season the thin slices of pork loin with salt and fresh ground pepper. Pour olive oil in a deep sauté pan and heat it. Add the slices of pork loin to the hot oil and fry for 4 minutes until they are golden brown and cooked throughout. Meanwhile, peel and slice one tomato.
- Place the tomato slices on the base of the rustic bread. Cover them with the slices of pork loin and opened green peppers, and place on the top of the serrano ham. Serve the fried potatoes as a garnish.
