Hit: 502

We have been invited to a Trade Mission where we will have the opportunity to visit Galicia, discover its gastronomy and culture and meet Galician Food&Drinks companies!!

Galicia is located on the North-West of Spain, where the Greeks situated the end of the ancient world! To give you a more accurate location, it’s just above Portugal, and shares coastline with the Atlantic Ocean to the west and the Bay of Biscay to the north. Galicia temperate climate, rich soil, green fields and unique long coastline forms a land of gastronomic variety, and its numerous festivals celebrate the abundance from the region’s sea and vegetable gardens.

On this occasion, one of the products that we are looking the most is Padron peppers! And that’s our mission! To bring the authentic Padrón peppers to the UK.

For those unfamiliar with the term, Padrón peppers are a variety of peppers typically grown on the town of Padrón in the province of A Coruña. Their main characteristic is that they are small, with a color ranging from bright green to yellowish green, but what make them famous is that they are usually mild, but some can be very hot. This property has given rise to the popular Galician aphorism, ‘Os pementos de Padrón, uns pican e outros non’, which means thatPadrón peppers, some are hot, some are not.
